Search

Every Neutrino site has search, switched on, with nothing to configure. There is a search control in the header at every screen size, and it opens a full-screen overlay that filters as the reader types — results appear from the first keystroke rather than after pressing enter.

The search itself is Ghost's, not the theme's. Ghost ships a search component with every site and Neutrino provides the button that opens it. That distinction matters for two reasons: it decides what search can find, and it decides how much of its appearance the theme controls, which is very little.

What it finds is post and page titles and excerpts, not full body text. A search for a phrase buried in paragraph nine of an article will not surface it. That is the trade-off Ghost has made — search runs entirely in the reader's browser against a small index, so it is instant and costs nothing to run, at the price of depth.
